Well just letting you know (whoever is interested) - got to my destination after 12 hours - coach had a number of stops for the smokers and a cup of coffee. Unfortunately cos I was sitting apart from my friends got a lady sitting beside me (holier than thou) who had been let down that morning with her company ie brother in law took sick so she decided to go on her own and of course latched onto us throughout. She was very mean as moneywise and whilst I would not want a thing from her - I think for our company at breakfast and evening meals and sometimes throughout the various trips she could have bought a little keyring. Thank God I was coming home when I did cos I could not have put up it with a day longer - also a very boring woman indeed. I did regale her with all my stories of my life and so she was getting quite entertained. Apart from all that (rant) I did enjoy the break and other people on the coach were very entertaining. However as I always found on these coaches people become very friendly with each other on the way home.

awww Conn, what a shame for you, having to tolerate a bore for hours, nowt worse, anyway I hope you had a lovely time , where did you go to?
Question Author
Killarney Ireland Bobbisox - a very beautiful part of the world - and food was scrumptious in the hotel - was worried I had put on so much weight but it was 3 pounds. thanks for asking Bobbisox.
Hi connemmara; that's one of the reasons I'm scared of going on that kind of holiday in case I get lynched by somebody who won't let me get on with my own thing when I want to. It would ruin my holiday.
sounds lovely apart from this lady, I mean, you just wouldn't park yourself off onto folk , would you? if they invited you to join them , that's different, glad you had a lovely time in S Ireland though

What could I do she pointedly asked if she could join us - and being the Christian I am ha haha I could not hurt her and say no. If I had have been in her position I am afraid I would not have gone rather than latch on to anybody. I felt a bit suffocated - thank God my other friends accepted the situation - what could I have done - said NO
No, that would have been rude and you are obviously not so it was a catch 22 situation you found yourself in Conn
I don't really see why she should give you or your friends a little gift for your company. You were not obliged to do it and no one should do a good deed and expect something back, that's not very christian from what I remember of my religious education. Plus, I often appear amused when people regale with my life stories, it doesn't mean I am.
I hope the sun was shining and that your visit was not too spoiled by your "shadow". I have happy memories of a visit to Connemara.
lol you China, you bother to look amused, i have perfected blank face and pretend i can;t speak english
Question Author
fao China Doll - I do see what you mean but if she was bored with me and my stories then she should not have joined us - she had a choice - my friends and I had no choice in this circumstance
lol she probably thought she was entertaining too and wondered why you didn't buy HER a keyring for her interesting company. I bet she's at home now saying to her friends "and this woman who i kept entertained didn't even buy me a keyring!"
