Rebekah Brooks has resigned as chief executive from News International. Does this mean she now does not have to appear before the select committee next tuesday?

why should it? Just because you've left the job in which you embezzled money, it doesn't mean the police won't still want a chat with you. The MPs will still want to know what went on and who was responsible.

Anyway, I'm off to hang out some bunting. It's kind of short notice to arrange a street party, but...

Just checking :) - I was wondering if this was some sort of ploy to evade some of the more embarassing (for her) questions the select committee was likely to throw in her direction...........
I'lljust pop round for a celebratory cuppa then.....
from the Guardian website: [Commons media committe chair John] Whittingdale is still planning to "ask her the same questions" on Tuesday and said her resignation does not change that. But it makes it more important that Rupert and James Murdoch will be at the committee.
Now that she's got a lot more free time, maybe she can learn the skills of hair management and master the art of a comb and hairbrush. Bye bye Becky, you will NOT be missed.
She'll have more time now for socializing with all the top MP's.
Is she the one who used to go out with Grant Mitchell (sorry, Ross Kemp)
Didn't they marry?
She spent a night in the cells for splitting his lip...........during the campaign against Domestic Violence which The Sun was running.........

She seems to lead an ironic life........:o)
Yes but don't expect into getting any real answers from any of the wise three. Murdoch may plead the 5th amendment as the police are on the case. I just hope he doesn't ask for asylum when the US finds he hacked into the 9/11 victims.
No, they've just said on the 6 o'clock news that one of her reasons for leaving is to give her more time to prepare for the Select Committee.
Tut, she missed the Fulwood academy prize giving evening, maybe she'll step down as one of their school governers now too
Bet she uses "I am sorry I can not answer this - Police Investigation" or words to that effect, extensively - a quasi-"Taking the 5th"
