Doc thanks for such an informative answer as to how you do your washing. Anyone with more than 2 brain cells - your views are welcome.
Must admit that by "slimline", I thought you meant "not as wide". But the two makes you mention are "not as deep". Just consulted the Which? website and they have tested one of the Hoovers and said it washed fine but had an extremely loud spin cycle.

ging - I am indeed looking for something slimmer than 550mm in width. Thanks for pointing out that these machines are "shallow" in depth rather than width. Was just about to bite the bullet and buy and Candy - Thanks again for saving me my money. Does which have any info on narrow machines?

Tony
Glad to be of help. The only "compact" machine listed is a Zanussi ZWC 1300W it is 500mm wide but has a wash capacity of only 3kg, and isn't very good at washing!
(Sorry I can't give you a link- a lot is only available to subscribers and won't display to non-subscribers).

Ging - thanks for make and model - appreciate smaller drum have lower capacity and less agitation - just want to limit my visits to laundrette - will have a look.

ging - have looked at various reviews, none were terrible, but not a cheap machine!!! Anyway one is winging it's way to me, a 1301 model - will have to build a plinth for it to sit on as it not only narrow 495mm but short as well 670mm. Thanks for info

Tony
Tony : pleased the info was helpful. Hope the machine has a long and useful life.
