Hello Crosswordlanders,

I haven't done too badly this week. For a Learner. Yet, I would still ask for some help as follows: 11d [9 letters ??D?N????] "Left-winger, a continental worker after first day not required"; 19d [7 letters, all blank] "Salad leaves fashionable Conservative with no starter" and 25a [8 letters ??????s?] "Settler Mark is taking time". Finally, and this may interest you experts in Xwords...10a [2 words "Understand how door is locked" I have 'Catch On' but could it not also be 'Latch On' How do we know which answer would be judged correct?

'Catch on' is more usually used for "understand"

Either catch on or latch on would work, although I think latch on is more commonly used in the sense of "to grasp physically" so I would choose catch on.

It has been said on another post that Catch On is the answer being accepted for on-line entries.
