Reducing noise from ceiling-mounted bathroom light switch

Hi folks - can anyone suggest a way of 'smothering' the loud clacking noise that this lightswitch makes.....I want to reduce the noise level specially in the room above. I am in the process of re-flooring this room, so if it means taking up floorboards bring it on......

You could try a bit of fibreglass insulation over the switch under the floorboards or move the switch to the wall outside the bathroom.

Install an ordinary light switch outside the bathroom by the door?

Surprised it is that noticable. Maybe replace with a similar but quieter one ?

how can a light switch make so much noise? you could fit dimmer one?

Some have a heavy click action .. some are quiet. Look for a replacement.

Many years ago a colleague suffered the same problem – with his bathroom ceiling mounted switch, waking his young children.

He swapped it with one at work, that was much quieter. As Albags says – search out one with a quieter switching action.
