Using dogs as a simile, once one gets away from "purebreds", which are much more beset with afflictions (in-breeding), most all dogs are highly distinct from each other. In the case of humans, since we don't generally put a lot of stock in "purebred" humans, we have a great diversity, making us stronger, as a species. Man's close relatives, apes, within a given species (chimps, gorillas, etc.), show very little relative physical distinction from one another. Same holds true for coyotes, in the canine group, just like domesticated dogs. Amazing thing is that coyotes continue to expand their range as chimps and gorillas creep closer to extinction.....
Still, diversity is the key to successful continuation of a species.
