I have been told that parents who pay child maintenance, can be put on a different tax code, is this correct or is it an urban myth?

It seems that if the person is eligible, this could be the case, but the criteria are quite specific http://www.hmrc.gov.u...aintenance-relief.htm

Born before 1935? I can't imagine there'll be many folk of that age paying maintenance...
