Does anyone have the authority to challenge the EU for not filing audited accounts?
9 Answers
As the EU have serially failed to file accounts for years with no consequence, any business which did that would be summonsed and prosecuted if they ignored it without the need for a trial as it is an automatic crime of omission. As the EU are talking trillions then presumably if there is a rule requiring (as there should be) exactly the same procedure, why is it not enforced and who is meant to be doing it if anyone?

We're getting there now, they have a procedure and now for at least 14 years they have indeed filed accounts as you showed, the problem is they were not approved. So I'll reframe the question, once EU accounts are not approved what are the procedures and sanctions to enforce them? Again, a normal business without approved accounts would be given mandatory instructions to sort them out, and if not they would be heavily fined and even closed down. You can't have regulations without an enforcement procedure for when they are broken.

buildersmate, I think your answer actually contains the lion's share of the reason. It's because most people don't mind or care that most of the money we give the EU every day (yours included) simply vanishes without trace. The fact this clearly does not bother you or most people is the main reason nothing has ever been done about it.

I post again my link showing how the accounts have been judged 'true and fair' for the last 3 years

Perhaps David you might be better turning your ire on the MOD who have lost £6.3 Billion
