Firefox problems

I just booted up my old lappy. FF is out of date. So I installed the upgrade. Now every time I try and open it it says "your computer needs rebooting to finish previous upgrade". Rebooted computer 54 times - still samemessage. Tried reinstalling firefox and still the same.

Can anyone help, please?

Never heard of FF needing a reboot to install, have you got some non-standard add-ons (like RoboForm for example)?
