Do earwigs actually go into people's ears? Our garden seems to be earwig HQ at the moment, they are every flipping where and I really don't like them. Also, do they bite?

Put earwig traps in your garden fill yoghurt cups with straw and put them upside down on canes amongst the plants the earwigs crawl up into them and you can shake them out into a bag and dispose of them every morning
