Don't these teachers get a long enough summer holiday?

I have just noticed that the kids have been let off for their summer holds, at lunch time today.

And I suppose they will pinch another day or two off when they start back in September.

Not at all LL, there are a few threads on this topic at the moment and a few posters who have added to them all and just see the holidays and that's it. I've seen male secondary teachers become nervous wrecks and females run out of classrooms in tears. I'm just pointing out that it is a very stressful job at times that the knockers ought to try that's all.

I think there is a culture of 'My job's the most difficult' and I agree that lots of teachers have no idea about what jobs outsde of education are like. However; it is not often that people deny that people in offices etc have difficult jobs or work hard; teachers always seem to be under criticism about one thing or another which I think is why they complain so loudly so as to pre-empt the comments about how easy teaching is.
On a different note; everyone has an opinion about what makes effective teaching and believe that just because they went to school they are an expert on educational theory. I've been to the doctors but wouldn't assume to advise a GP how to do their job!
