I've died my hair a purple colour and really devoted to my nursing :( and sometimes do my nails, however rare x

of course you are DEN, as i am. i don't have any issues with you, sqad, or anyone else here, it's a nice little forum, and am a little baffled by your initial response to me, and then sqads.
sqad seems to imply that by having red hair and painted fingernails you can't be a devoted nurse. i'm simply applying the same logic to being a good doctor.
i really don't want an argument or any friction so perhaps i'll just leave it there, but i do hope you can see what i was getting at :o)

Sqad, that is possibly the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. Nurses are people, and if they choose to colour their hair then that is a personal decision for them and has absolutely no bearing on their ability to do their job. You really are an infuriatingly sexist old goat!

I've also worked with what some people may consider thug looking people, ie tattoos all over them (male and female) but they are still great at what they do x

i have been chastised on an american forum for being a little too up-front (something which i actually don't think i am at all) simply because i'm prepared to say what i think. i'm never confrontational or rude, or personal, and always try to be polite, but i do take issue with some things that some posters say and try very hard to write it in a way that comes across as very even and fair. sometimes it's the way i write and sometimes it's the way my posts are read. to be honest i'm not one of the most prolific posters here and never have been, just dip in and dip out.
would still like to know what sqad meant though...

some seem to have forgotten that there are patients in all of this, who have lost their lives, what must their families be going through. As some have said having dyed hair is no indicator of wrong doing. A relative is a nurse, and a damned good one, dyed hair and all.

what would it matter if it was polka dot, the fact of the matter is families have lost loved ones, and i would be angry if that was my mother or father.

I am the polar opposite to mother teresa im afraid.....lol! Dyed hair, nails dine, lashes done. However on duty...hair off collar, no jewellery, bare clean nails and spotless clean unifrom. Still they say the glamorous tinkerbell. Lol x
