I've won a few prizes of late from national newspapers (crosswords).
Thing is, I only know I've won because I've seen my name published.
Does anyone know if they usually contact you by post too? And how long does it take to actually get the prize?
I won the Independent images comp ages ago, and have yet to receive my champagne prize. Having won first prize I gather I have won a print too, but have no idea how to claim it, so await their notification. If I hadn't seen my name in print, I'd be none the wiser!
Having said all that, won the Beelzebub in the Independent and got the prize before my name was published!
My mother won the Daily Telegraph General Knowledge crossword a few years ago and she was certainly contacted direct by the newspaper regarding her prize - but I don't remember how long it took.....
Thanks both for the reply!
My prizes are from the Independent and The Spectator.
I would dearly love to be lucky enough to win the Telegraph or Times! :-))
I have won several as well. Time varies from paper to paper. I remember that Radio Times takes quite a while to deliver prize but they do contact you as well.
