I am changing from sky to virgin media

how can i keep programmes i have on my sky box to view when i have changed over to virgin media.

I dont think you can, you tend to lose the programmes once you stop subscribing

You can't as far as I'm aware. Since I've changed I can't even access any Sky red button services as I don't subscribe directly

I have just cancelled my Sky subscription.(yesterday). They said it will be on for 31 days then when it goes off I will lose the recorded material, so to watch it within the 31 days. Once you cancel sky you do lose what is on your Sky box. I cancelled because I don't watch Tv very much and then only watch the non sky programs, and I will still get those free anyway. ANd I have freeview anyway. So saving money all round.

If you have a DVD recorder transfer everything you wish to keep from the Sky+ box before they cut you off.

If you have a SKY receiver you will receive a new physical box, plus you will have a new subscription. So it is a "fresh start".
