How can I remove permanent marker from a dry-wipe board?

Some bright spark used a permanent marker on my dry wipe board, so I need to remove it. I've heard of all kinds of things, spirits, petrol, turps etc but I want to be sure I'm using the correct thing. Does anyone know what will definitely remove it? Thanks.

or nail varnish remover pads, they might be less pungent, you might pass out from the fumes of the liquid if you're not used to it lol

write over it using a dry wipe marker and simply rub off as usual.

nail varnish remover will probably damage the surface of the board. A simple alcohol will be the safest - dare I say vodka or even de-icer (which is isopropyl alcohol).

Had same problem today! Used WD40. Worked a treat. Clean undamaged board else do a Booldawg suggests as have used that method too.

regardless of what you use you should always do a test on a small bit of the board to check that the chemical will not cause damage.
I would try white spirit.

I've found using a dry wipe marker over the top and then wiping off works.
