Amazon Kindle

I may be going to the US shortly and was wondering if I bought a Kindle over there would it work OK here in the UK?

Amazon is an online store. You buy over the Internet.
We have the Internet in the UK

True Rojash but the kindle bought online in the US is about £85 compared to £111 over here..............

Yeah, I'm not sure that you'd get away with that though, craft1948, because you have to register your Kindle to an Amazon account to purchase books.
I don't know, but would guess that would also mean you'd have to register it using a US credit card and address.

In purely technical terms a WiFi Kindle purchased in any country would work in any other country. A would also work in any country, although the 3G part would be dependant on Amazon having a deal with a 3G supplier in that country.

Thank you for your less than helpful first answer rojash. Last time I went into my local Tesco, I could buy one there so it wasn't the ridiculous question your answer implied.

Just for interest, you can download the Kindle reader program onto your PC.

I got rid of my Kindle when it failed with the common split screen problem, but still use the program.
