Chronic bronchitis in sheltie

My friends sheltie bitch has been coughing badly took her to vets and he said she's got chronic bronchitis did exrays bloods ect and prescribed vivatonia 50mg pills, said she would need them for life have googled but no result anyone had these pills ? She eating fine and still wants to go out and is 10 and half years old anyone with experiance off this disease or advice would be very much appreciated

it's spelled VIVITONIN - try googling it - there is lots of info available. Hope this helps
