I thinking about hiring a skip to take away some garden rubbish well quite a bit really, but no nothing about them? What sort of size are do they come in? Can you just have them for garden waste, Turf, hedging, stones etc? Do you hire them by the day or the week? Any help would be really appreciated, thanks!
In all honesty, you'd be better of talking to a local skip-hire firm.
They come in different sizes and are available for hire over different periods.....
But there may be issues with access to your site, or the need for a licence, etc. Your local firm will be able to explain more fully.
Hi, just as another suggestion....I found it was cheaper to hire a man with a van few a couple of hours. The skip was going to cost me around £150 and white van man [just a guy locally who advertises in shop windows], as it was all garden waste he took he just went to the municipal dump.
Depending on how much rubbish you've got and how long it is going to take you to clear it you might want to consider a Hippobag. You buy them from large DIY stores and they come in a couple of different sizes. Load them up at your leisure (as long as its accessible from the road) and then book a collection when you are done.
hey thanks for your answers, Hipposkip sounded perfect but they don''t operate in west Wales! There is an issue with vans and the local tip so I guess I am left with contacting a local firm the nearest of which is 20 miles away.....
And if the skip is parked in your street, there will probably be an issue, with your local council reaching for rolls of that red tape. (Traffic cones, lights at night, notices, you name it!).
