my boss was looking at a few courses and said if there were enough spaces i could go to. One she did find was one called banish the myths that the funeral parlour does. You get to see embalming, a body in chapel of rest and then the whole cremation bit. I have watched things on tv and always interesting to learn new things but dont know if id puke or be totally freaked out. Would any of you lot do it?

Probably, it sounds interesting.
Yes, I might do, so long as I wasn't alone!
Yes, I think I would. I think we would all benefit from learning more about some of the subjects that are considered - well - taboo to discuss at times.
I’m trying to think of an occupation (other than undertaker/cremation worker) where such a course would be useful.

Perhaps this is because I don’t work for a local authority.

Surely there only needs to be one space for you to go on the course.
It's a growth industry. It will always be needed, but personally, I don't want to do it.
Yes, sounds fascinating. I'm not at all squeamish about things like that.
If you work in healthcare, hymie, particularly with the elderly who might want to know about these things, I could see it being very useful to be able to talk to them (or their families) factually about what you'd learned.
How will this course help you in your job? Wouldn't it be better to go on a course to help your development? Not really the type of thing that will look good on your cv and possibly will upset you.
no I wouldn't do that...can see the point in some circs but not for me
Without a doubt!
I wouldn't do it but my neice recently did and she found it very interesting. I suppose only you know if you'd be comfortable with it or not and if the experience will be helpful in your career.

im in admin for a healthcare company. I would rather the carers took the spaces. Anyone can do it, its actually free to public. She just asked if id be interested.
Sounds great to me but then I am morbid and love to learn about this sort of stuff. I have already seen an autopsy performed and that did not freak me out so this probably would not either..
