Roaming

Can anyone tell me how I check my mobile is still set for roaming as I last used it phoning from Australia over a year ago? Will it still be ok or as so many months elapsed will this still be ok to phone the UK when I next travel?
I didn't need to set the roam facility as it was just on the phone...as is a quad phone so originally didn't check this.Husband got same phone...different network and his didn't roam so was just wandering.Thanks for reply in advance.

according to the manual on line. if you have a capital R in a black square on the screen then the roaming feature is on
