Hi gw, no you should not be worried that the car will stop on you or anything like that, but it does mean a problem somewhere. Often with a sensor or something like that, this usually means that the engine management system has defaulted to a lower power and/or less economical GET YOU HOME setting which is probably also non-conforming for emission control, This is usually a dealer repair due to the diagnostic equipment required.
