i keep having gdi.exe problems, which is a general security error, any suggestions???

Gdi.exe is an error message and usually tells you that you have to reinstall Windows ' it occurs in Windows ME, Windows 98 and Windows 95 editions and usually means that you fonts folder has been deleted. Go to this web address http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;
