Anyone got a good crispy batter recipe for deep fried chicken? Sod the arteries ;-)

I'm having real problems finding a UK version on t'internet, all the recipes I can find use the US "cup" system. I like grams or ounces :-)

Recipe is for deep fried chicken, in deep fat fryer, beer batter would be nice? All the other recipes I've tried tend to give a slightly too gooey batter.
