When clearing out my late father-in-law's house, we came across a 1981 bottle (magnum) of Fortnum and Mason's champagne - I think he got it in a hamper many years ago. I assumed this would be undrinkable - but when I watched CSI Miami last night, part of the storyline involved people buying and drinking champagne from 1957! Does anyone know if our bottle is likely to be good,bad or indifferent?
Thanks - didn't want to open the bottle on a special occasion and then discover it was rancid, didin't want to open it on an ordinary day and then discover it was really good.
