My Xbox 360 has the standard av cable that is scart but can also be used in composite (with a red, white and yellow phono plug)
I've used the composite port on the TV and the picture is fairly blurry. The TV has an HDMI port. I'm thinking that theres a cable NOT supplied with t Xbox that I need?
Yep.... probably an HDMI cable! (look just below the normal AV connector on the back of the Xbox and unless you're really unlucky and have a really early one there should be an HDMI port)
If not the component cable is your next best option
Did they ever ship with an HDMI cable then, neither of mine came with one.
Still, HDMI cables are less than £5 if you buy them from somewhere like Amazon, or even larger tescos stock a value HDMI cable for about £4.... don't get ripped of with an expensive one, they give no better results than a cheap one.
it came with a scart adaptor which the composite phonos plug into. The cable supplied plugs into the av socket on the xbox and had the red, white and yellow phonos on the other end - this then plugs into either the composite sockets on a tv or the scart adaptor. both give poor quality on my new tv
When my son first set his 360 up on his hdtv the image was blurry. The reason being that it was showing std def. There was a switch on the cable for HD.
Do you not have this cable?
I think they had that switch on the really old cables supplied with the console. I watched a clip on YT and this chap had one he was connecting (yes, I need to get out more!)
Anyway, bought my HDMI cable today and wow! for the 1st time I can read my laptimes in Forza. The difference is breath-taking.
