Thanks woofgang but I'm still none the wiser. Is it another name for 'Queensland Cake?'

No it is not a treat for my pet chinchilla, I only have a dog, cat and a husband!!! Thanks for trying.

The only mention I can find is a Chocolate Chinchilla Cake. Sadly, no recipe but in brackets it says Chocolate Angel Food Cake.....now, there are literally dozens of these American recipes on the web and some include marshmallows so perhaps they resemble a fluffy Chinchilla coat.

Then again it could be woofgang's Queensland Cake. Bit of a puzzle, where did you hear about it?

It was bought at a Farmers Market and just said 'Chinchilla Cake' We have now started to eat it. Not overly nice, a bit dry. It contains glace fruit, nuts and sesame seeds, won't be wanting the receipe now thanks!!!
are you sure it wasn't intended for a small fluffy animal??
