I have just tried to order the above online, i stopped when i was quoted �23:00 !!!

Last time, i went to the town hall in person and it was only a fiver - is this because its online or have they really gone up in price that much ?

A Birth certificate should cost �7 online from the GRO if you have the references.  If you don/t it will cost �11.50. See here

Again, if you order it from the local register office it should cost �7.

Thanks for that - i just looked up my local reg' office prices, �5.50 (postal service) so thats great as im not in a major rush for it - just being lazy !!
