None of the so called fuel saving devices work, if they did the manufacturers would fit them themselves! The best you can do is change up in good time, remember that its revs that cost fuel, not speed, accelerate gently, dont carry a lot of useless junk in the boot or on the roof, and keep your windows closed, this increases aerodynamic efficiency, (but not by much!) The modern turbo diesel engines offer good performance plus economy, so perhaps you could consider switching to something powered by one of those?
What about a gas conversion (LPG) also changing from tyres with chunky treads to smoother tread road tyres. I know both cost money but in the long run? Air con is a big user so only use it if really necessary. Downsize car, there are lots of good 1.6/1.8 cars. Don't run around with a full heavy tank, pick out your fuel stations carefully for where they are and prices, filling up only when you need but during journeys, not going especially for fuel. Make the kids walk!
have a gadget called gas save that works on improving combustion. this device is installed on the intake manifold of the engine. contact [email protected]
