CD protection

If I made a copy of a digital speech recording onto a CD, is there any way of stopping that CD being re-copied - or is the technology too expensive?

You can't stop anything being copied. basically if it can be seen or heard it can be copied.
There are ways used to try and make it harder to do a direct copy of a CD by the normal "ripping" software used, but that's not really within the reach of the general public... and if somebody really wants a copy there is nothing that can stop somebody putting a microphone next to a speaker.
