goldfish poo!!

please dont laugh, got a 14 yr old goldfish who in the last 3 days (how to put this) is pooing big long thick amounts all the time is there anything we can give him he seems ok but it looks horrible hanging out of him all the time!

Cut down of his fibre and give him a big hug.

find some very smll frozen peas... thaw them and feed them to your fish lots of fibre in a frozen pea... but the easiest thing is add extra weed to the tank as the fish swims through the poo gets wiped off by the leaves

Yes it does! Feed a peas. cooked, de-shelled and crushed. Then starve the fish for three days, then another pea.
Don't feel bad for not feeding.... fish can easily go a week with out food.

Goldfish Poo!!
It sounds that your goldfish needs some roughage in its diet.I suggest you take a trip to the local Aquarist/Pet shop or Garden Centre and get some live Daphnia(water fleas) and/or Bloodworm.A round lettuce placed upside down in the pond is a good idea only the stalk may remain in the morning.A small amount of wholemeal bread is often used to feed fish as the temp. drops. Never knew they could live so long (shows what I know) is this a small goldfish or larger one in an outside pond? Hope it fares well poor thing.
