70`s Dectectives

There was a programme in the 70`s and the 2 main characters were cops, and one of them was a robot. I seem to remember he had a plug socket on his chest and he could read whole books in a few seconds. Anyone got any ideas what it was called? I dont think it has ever been repeated and no one believes me when I talk about it.
