THE ONLY ITEM I SOLD ON THT DAY HAS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NAME .I REMEMBER THE BUYER RTEQUESTING I POST TO A DIFFERENT ADDRESS,BUT THATS NOT UNUSUAL. WHEN I TRY TO RESPOND,IM ONLY GIVEN OPTIONS TO PROVIDE PROOF OF POSTAGE (I HAVE RECEIPT BUT NO DETAILS ON IT,NO TRACKING NUMBER.OR REFUND. IVE DONE NOTHING WRONG.IVE EMAILED BOTH AGENCIES AND TO RING COSTS AN ARM AND A LEG.DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY HELP OR ADVICe PLEASE?
If you have posted an item to an address other than the one that is registered on paypal/ eBay then the paypal guarantee does not apply.
It is a common scam to ask for an item to be sent to a diffrent address and then claim it did not arrive and file a complaint to get the cash back.
I am afraid that in this case paypal will side with the buyer and take the cash back...
No useful advice, but I sympathies with you on the eBay/PayPal thing. When I was last conned by a seller I found one would reach a page where it insisted on a postage number I have no previous information that I was supposed to get one. That's a problem with dealing with machines and not human beings, they are just so inflexible.
Its no help-but I had an email 3 weeks ago saying 'item broken in transit please refund or will contact ebay' well I have kept email as haven't sold on ebay for 2 years almost, not heard since, so scammers are around. I can proove no money went in paypal anyway-can't you do that? or contact them?
Even if you sent it to valid address, without a tracking number the buyer automatically gets a refund.
Proof of postage is not enough for PayPal or eBay, they need proof of delivery.
