I am trying to e mail with a yahoo address. The first 4 letters/digits are underlined. I am on g mail and my system won't let me send the e mail. I cannot underline the digits. Any ideas?...

I've never seen an email address with certain characters underlined.Are you certain the email address isn't accepted if you omit the underlining?

Yes I've tried.

Email addresses can not contain underlined characters.

They can only contain proper letters (upper or lower case) numbers and the special characters ! # $ % & ' * + - / = ? ^ _ ` { | } ~ .

This is most bizarre. The person assures me that she has received e mail like this eg start of address s27b - these characters are underlined

Can she forward the email to you so that you can play around with it and 'reply' to it?
