I've unsuccessfully entered the Mail on Sunday's Prize Crossword for three years. This is obviously small potatoes. Who holds the no win record?

As far as I can recall at least 25 years, sent every week including when on holiday in the UK. By the way my "pet" name by my good lady wife, would you believe is "Big Ears"

I don't know the answer but I'm pretty sure your case is not unusual. I submitted the Sunday Times Crossword and Brainteaser most weeks for several years but never won.
There will be many thousand entries for the MOS crossword each week. I would guess at least 5000. So if you enter every week I reckon you'd be lucky to win once every hundred years

Some competitions are easier to win than others. About 30 years ago I entered Radio 1s " top 3 forecast " competition and won it 3 times ina month- each tie winning set of the top 10 singles.
The solutions to many of these prize crosswords are now available on line and I think some allow online submission, so I wouldn't be surprised if something like MOS Prize Crossword had well over 5000 entries each week.

On average, people submitting crosswords by post in the hope of winning a prize wil pay out much more in postage than they will win in prizes.

Been doing it since it started and no wins, but few months ago won £25 on YOU crossword

I've been doing it every week since 1997, the MOS Prize and the YOU x-word, and no sign of a win.

won the You magazine but lost the cheque
and been doing it for 15 years and the Monday Express big quiz and still no luck
