Doctor Appointments

My uncle is staying with me from overseas and needs to see a doctor (non urgent). I have been told by a colleague that there would be a charge of £50 for this. I was surprised by this and wondered if this is correct? Does anyone know of this?

you can register him at your gp, stating that he is your visitor for temprorary time,max 6 months i think.

where is your uncle from? would a visit to a doctor in his country be free?

depending where he comes from it is probably right. I think the surgery can set their own rate, because it will be a private appt

yes, that's right then. As far as i can remember, there is an arrangement for australians to recieve urgent and hospital care, but NOT primary care (gp services)
