I can't remember who it's by, when it came out (late 70's probably) or what it's called, but it's buggin me. All I can remember is one line, to the tune of Brotherhood of Mans "Angelo", that line being "Long ago, outside a chip shop in Walthamstow"

What was it?

Question Author
Ta but that's what I thought but I just got a load of barron knights stuff off Limewire, and it wasn't one of them. I really need the title if it is them.
the barron knights i think

long ago, outside a chip shop in walthamstow
stood a young rocker called greasy joe
put on his helmet and said "lets go"
he was keen
walked down the high street like barry sheen
doing his best t look very mean
till he met anne on her mean machine

running away together, running away in leather
anne and jo

i have no idea what happened there

or there!
Continuing bednobs' rendition of the Barron Knights classic "Ann'n'Joe"

They passed the bl00dy tower at 100 miles an hour
And they were so amazed that Tower Bridge was raised
They went right to the top. They found they couldn't stop
They went right off the end into the River Thames
Hand in hand

(apologies that the wording may not be completely accurate but the gist of it is right).

I've googled the lyrics but nothing.
it's either live in trouble or a taste of aggro.
10 Barron Knights
Live In Trouble

This was the first time that the Barron Knights were in the UK chart since 1968, and the first time that they made the top 40 since "Under New Management" made number 15 at Christmas 1966. This band are the all time masters of the parody record and it was great to have them back. This single treated us to their interpretations of "Angelo", "Float On", "Loving You", "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", "D.I.V.O.R.C.E." and "Lucille" spread over both sides of the disc. Very funny at the time, can still raise a chuckle now, it reached number seven.

Cheers - I hope you are right. It wasn't one of those I found, so I shall just have to see if it's out there somewhere.

I have this song on a Barron Knights tape, and I'm 99.9999999% sure the cover version is called Angelo too.
It was called Angelo from the Barron Knights Live In Trouble E.P in 1977. Hope this helps
