Andy  My version of the same Quiz is only a photocopy and has no Question 24!  Can you post it here for me?

I also think that my Question 45 is incomplete!  Do you have any comment?

crofter, Q24 Very dark and goes with lodging. Kind of compliments one of your answers to me! Q45 Able to decapitate. The difficulty for me was finding a synonym for able to. Eventually found a 4-letter one losing its first to give a lizard! Good luck

Hi Andy Thanks for the missing clue to Q24. For Q45, presumably you are thinking about (D)EFT?

Could just be it! Really an eft is an antiquated name for a newt - although it could mean a lizard.

I did wonder if Q24 had missed off the word "Mary", so that it read "Able to decapitate Mary" to give the answer CAN + ARY?? Food for thought!

Yes, eft - they are quite common apparently in pet shops

Missed your last paragraph! See what you mean about canary. If this was what the quizsetter meant she would have to accept eft as the clue reads.
