Does anyone know if you can transfer pictures taken from one of these fairly new phones to your computer, and how this would normally work? eg, do you send them to a website where you dowload them, or do the phones come with a USB connection facility?

as far as i know, most phones (including mine) have either a removable memory card which can be plugged into a PC via USB, or they come with a data cable - again connected via USB or they have both capabilites - my phone (SE K750i) has both of these, to allow you to access both the memory card and the built in memory of the phone.

alternatively, a lot of phones are email capable, so (for a price) you could send photos to your PC.

The other option is a Bluetooth USB adapter. It has the added bonus of being wireless, and works with almost any bluetooth enabled phone.

Thanks guys - need to look at the particular phone by the looks of things. It will be a Motorola V220, I'll see what I need and post again if required.

Thanks again.

Some phones also have an infrared feature, that allows pictures to be transfered to your computer without cable, if your computer has an active infrared port. That way you don't even need a cable , or any bluetooth device. You just need to turn the infrared on your phone. It's worth checking out. I've just found that out myself with my new phone ! It's very handy.

Never really needed a mobile, but would have been useful when a tyre blew on the motorway about 4 weeks ago. Luckily my mate's wife had hers with her, and she recommended that I buy one. It's a pay-as-you-go, so I don't really want to be using it to send things to my computer, just to save it for emergencies, and the only reason for buying a camera phone is to save taking one of my cameras everywhere.
