50th birthday gift for mum

Hi, I'm trying to work out what to do for mum's 50th present. One of the ideas I've come across is to fill a nice box, or similar, with 50 small gifts. Does anyone have any other ideas? Or ideas of things I could fill box with?

Unless you've got about £5000 to spend the box would be full of tat. Why not take her to a spa for the day or a night away with a good meal?

i am in her age group and i think a spa break would be lovely,nice to share with a daughter and have lovely memories;or maybe a parachute jump?

My family hired a house on the coast for the weekend so we could have a holiday together, really enjoyable.

My mum's 52 tomorrow. I just bought her some Lancome goodies and we're taking her out for a meal tomorrow night.

I would love little framed pics of my children and my family.Things from the sixties which would remind her of when she was a teenager like Brut as it may remind her of a boyfriend.A copy of the Jackie.A punk CD,a Bay City Rollers CD -i'll come back to you on this.Can u tell its my era lol !!

Yes, Dris. Mum has a twin too, so I'm making them a champagne breakfast in the morning. I've got lots of Salami, serrano ham, cheeses from the French market that was in town today, some fresh bread (which I'll have to go and get from the COOP in the morning) and some nice, sticky pastries.

Somewhat similar to filling a box is creating a collage print with pictures of her life. Try to get as close to one picture a year as possible on a collage. I did one with a baby scan and 49 small pictures in line alongside it - http://fotoinsight.co...s-collage-poster.html . At first it was difficult to get the pictures, but once I found the family photo albums it got easy, though I had to scan most of the photographs in.
