Rail fares up New Year?

possibly up to 8 percent, who on earth comes up with these figures.
People are already under the cosh from massive rises in utility bills, and food prices increasing day by day, not sure how they get away with it. It's no wonder many people still keep to their car, packed in like sardines on many commuter routes, and no guarantee of a seat either.

I am not interested in wi fi on trains, but decent, comfortable, and affordable fares, they are just pricing people off the trains and back into their cars.

Petrol prices have ben going up nearer 10% each year and drivers don't expect petrol companies to refurbish their cars out of the procedes either!
The Government has been cashing in on the tax revenues.
Now they're letting rail fares go up and using the money to reduce the subsidy they pay for rail transport
Yes good old Dave and George are pocketing the price rise for rail now as well as road
