What is the current annual leave entitlement for an employee

How much holiday are employee's entitled too?
And how soon are they entitled to that leave eg, is it still roughly 1.6 days per month for each month worked?

The statutory minimum is 5.6 weeks paid annual leave - 28 days for someone working five days a week (capped at a statutory maximum of 28 days for all working patterns).

Although you start building up holiday as soon as you start work your employer can control when you take your holiday.

A contract of employment may allow for a greater amount and set out a specific policy as to when the time can be taken.

I agree with the above... although is it worth clarifying that when there is a 9th public/bank holidays in a year (as in 2011 for the royal wedding and I think in 2012 for something), the statutory minimum doesn't change although some employers will grant the extra day?

The 28 days is equivalent to your working days too, so if you are part-time, you get part-time AL - you still get the 28 days but only paid AL for however many hours you would normally work. Does that make sense?
