I just downloaded the insurance certificate, but noticed that the signature is blacked out, i.e. not signature presented. But it has the person's name underneath the blacked out square.

Is this certificate legit and legal to use if asked by the police or for Road Tax renewal purposes?

Whose signature do you mean, newbie99?
May be normal for your provider, and the police will contact them, if they wish to check your insurance status.

I meant the signature of the insurer is blacked out.
probably to stop it being cut and pasted elsewhere.
also for a signature to be 100% legal it has to be original, not a copy
