How do I make them realise I deserve some recognition too?
I've been working at my job for three years now, it's a family run company by a husband and wife and I've been consistent and reliable and they have always been pleased with my work. They have two sons and I've always had a thing for the older son who is single and he has always been friendly and polite with me but never as if he is attracted to me which is fine. But another girl started working here about three months ago and all of a sudden she is the golden girl, my boss says how amazing she has done at every staff meeting and the other day I heard them invite her out for dinner with them, their two sons and the younger son's (not the one I like) girlfriend. She said yes and they all seem to get on so well. The son I like has been coming into the office more and more and still says hello to me but goes straight for the new girl's desk. The other day when they were talking about the meal his mum shouted across the room, "You're single aren't you?" to the new girl to which she said yes. Why am I being pushed out? I've paid my dues and I'm not asking for anything special but some recognition for my work would be nice.
