My God - Welshie as well? Someone fill me in quick - cos as most of you know, I have to restrict my AB access to the flipping library these days - was it a workmate of his who snitched? Cam someone pass him on a message from me - moral support, empathy and all that?

It is hard to credit that a colleague of WY, knowing the dreadful time he has recently had can do such a thing, If ever I felt a co-worker was overdoing a perk, I would have a quiet word with them, sneaks never prosper. As to the rights and wrongs of internet usage, it has surely to be determined by the employer and not abused.
I can understand some folk being peeved at others' using work computers for social sites, but it's the underhand way in which they 'report' people that really makes me mad. My 'reporter' didn't have the b@lls to put their name to their anonymous missive. They didn't write to me first, to warn me... and they easily could have done, because if they took the trouble to track down my employer, then they could have sent the letter to me at work instead.

Noraq - please pass on my sympathy & empathy to Welshie. And tell him to keep his chin up & his head held high - I know how he feels. At least he knows who his snitcher is.
To-Ry-Ah - if someone is chattering on the puter all day, every day, on work time then fair enough. And I know how addictive it can be. But if it's just first thing in a morning to say hello, at coffee breaks etc & the work for which you are being paid does indeed get done, and done well - then to report is petty. Couldn't this person in the first instance have approached Welshie to report her concerns ratehr than go tittle tattlign direct to management?

...and finally
In answer to Salla’s question, I mainly tended to use it before my official start time, and at breaks, lunchtime etc but what these people here do not realise, is that I have been in here at 4am most mornings and sometime before that, but ALWAYS before my official start time, as you well know.
She is also right by saying couldn’t she have come to me and mention it first – she was supposed to have been a mate!
As it happens, my yearly appraisal is due soon and, no doubt, this will be mentioned as well as other things. This year has been very difficult for me, obviously, and my line manager is well aware that I could have been sat at home these past 5 months going round the twist or even in the local nuthouse, or even back on the booze and fags.
I’m off home now and to be quite honest, don’t feel like coming back tomorrow, but being a company man I’ll be back in at 6.

Noraq - thanks for passing this on xx
Welshy - I don't see you as a vindictive gent, but no doubt you will let her know what you think in the fullness of time. I hope you can connect to us again sooner rather than later. Do not worry about the country bumpkin - I feel a suden desire to cross the country border ;) xx
Moony - "May I say how beautiful you all look this morning even ttfn in a certain light. I am at your disposal 24/7" Can you kindly clarify that bit for me - are you talking total eclipse of the sun or woodland burial?
