Anybody who can eat 3 Wheetabix must be a force to be reckoned with
It's nonsense...
A tough politician or tough bare knuckle fighter?

I think you need to define it a little for any kind of comparison.
My consultant runs a sexual abuse clinic for children. I would say that this is a tough job and she has a strong character to do it as well as she does.

Tough to me implies macho or rough and ready. Strength is an entirely different matter and comes in many forms.
Im really tough, I eat four Weetabix every morning!!
You need to give us some context, TWR - define "tough" - do you mean like "hard men", or resilient to conflict, or strong, or... what?

A women borns a child & takes it in her stride, a man had a kick in the bo@@lks on a sat playing football he nearly cries " GET IT"
Oh right.... yes, women put up with a huge amount of physical stuff due to their biology which men don't have to deal with. Bit like Man Flu, I guess. That's not toughness though, that's just not having much choice about it, and having to get on with life.

So you mean men OR women? That's a big difference to how your question could be interpreted at first. This is like your 'ripped off' thread TWR, if you made it clear you might not get the sarcastic answers that you don't like.
men in general are physically "tougher" (ie stronger, bigger) than women.
When our son died, my husband went back to work after 2 weeks, whereas i am still off after 3 months - this says to me he is emotionally "tougher" than me at the moment.

I have been through 12 operations since i was 30 and been in a fair amount of pain, whereas he feels pain very much just knocking his leg, therefore i would say i was "tougher" in relation to pain.

I go to bed reasonably early and get up resonably late, whereas he just keeps going. In endurance he is tougher than i am.
Whether this goes for all men/women though i doubt very much
ps, regarding giving birth, you say "women take it in their stride" which in 1 sense is true. However in the throes of giving birth i doubt you'd find many women who are just sitting there taking it!
Bednobs.....I wish I knew you. You are strong and weak in all the right places xx
♥ bednobs.

I think TWR has invented a new verb "a woman borns a child".
