Free avast antivirus

I have installed avast thinking it was free for life. it seems I only get a 30 trial, is there a free AV program I can download?

You downloaded the full, paid for version and installed it in trial mode, not the free version (which unsurprisingly they make a little harder to find)

The one you need is the green button where it says Download Now below the words Avast Free Antivirus - Download.com

And remember to install it when it's downloaded.

The best free A/V is AVG [Grisoft],it works a treat.You should also try 'Spybot' search and destroy,I use both and have never had a problem and they are both free.

As a general tip, download free programs from sites like Tucows, who vet the stuff and don't often carry the sites who charge for free stuff.

I have MSE ( Microsoft Security Essentials) which is a quick and free download. In fact I thought that, at sometime or other, Chuck had acknowledged it as being a good AV. ( or it may have was it Chris):-
