is there any way to save drafts of text messages on a blackberry?

when you write a text, if you then you decide you dont want to send it yet, you can just leave the text section and your message will stay there at the bottom of the messages of the person.

but they dont actually save anywhere...if you wanted to send a different message to the same person first you would have to delete the draft...

why is there no 'save to drafts option'?

im sure there must be some way...because its ridiculous for a phone that is all about messaging etc , not to be able to store drafts

thanks

I don't own a Blackberry. I know nothing about them. But I've just googled 'blackberry draft' and found this:

That seems too simple to be the answer to your question but, just in case it helps, I'll offer it to you.

thanks chris...i suspect thats for the email function - or possibly sms of later models - maybe they have realised the flaw and corrected it...

i have pressed every button or folder etc and absolutely nothing lets me save it.

maybe there is a deeper setting i need to activate or something...
