You don't actually say which to which faith you belong, but I think that most religions take the modern accepted approach that there is nothing fundamentally wrong with masturbation, but like faith itself, it really should be a matter of personal choice, and not something dictated by any religious code.

It is actually good for you....But as AH says it depends on your religion. Most protestant sects are fairly ambivalent about it. The quakers are not keen on it and strict calvinists take all forms of enjoyment to be sinful. Roman Catholics still regard it as a sin, though a venal one. Mormons and other more recent christian secct generally its ok. Islam frowns on it, Buddhism im not sure about, but I seem to remember its ok. In some versions of Hindu religion it is actually a form of prayer, as it is in the worship of Bacchus, or the Egyptian god Amun. Basically its your choice...pick a religion. I subscribe to the view that anything which makes you feel good and doesnt harm anyone else is perfectly fine. But then there arent many of us utilitarians around.
