my pal has a hotpoint washing machine
its does a spin
but it does not do a final spin
also sometimes the on off start and stop button keeps flashing
any ideas whats wrong

This could go on for ages until the make AND model number is given!

I would suggest that the first thing to check is the brushes. Very cheap
and very easy to change. eSpares is good, and they have a demo video too!

Worn brushes are the first thing to check when it does not spin. Yours might be marginal anyway so nothing to lose.
