..to lose my rag with the Claire's Accessories supervisor today who told me off. I am 42 and 3/4 years old by the way and don't react well to a telling off.
Apparantly "Company policy" says we, the customers are not allowed to peep through the holes in the "Surprise Bags" ( you get 10 unknown items for £5 in a sealed pink bag. If you look through the holes that it hangs up by you can see a bit of what you are getting)
We can't peep because "Then it is not a surprise bag".
Hell I would have laughed along with her if she was joking but she wasn't and she was rude with it.
By the time I had finished delivering my own honest opinion on her attitude and above-mentioned policy, my daughter had left the shop she was so embarrassed but I felt I made my point, mild mannered soul that I am ; )
Ok ok yeah it does ruin the surprise but it's not my point!! It's ridiculous that we are being told where we can and cannot look, that is my issue here.
Seadog I did laugh at first then it was me asking "you're joking, right?". It is really funny too.
I wandered into Claires accessories last year as I was looking for a present for my niece. As I wandered round the shop it was made pretty clear to me that I was viewed either as an undesirable (being over the age of 40, and on my own!) or as a potential shop lifter as I was followed around and had a member of staff coming up to me every 30 seconds. In the end I said that it was obvious they didn't want my custom and I walked out. Haven't been back since.

Well as said before if you peep then it's not a surprise bag and you at 42 should know this! You can look wherever you want ONCE you've purchased the goods, until you do it's their property and their rules I'm afraid!
